The Swimbuds Fit are the only waterproof headphones I’ve ever had that actually don’t leak and provide decent sound. I’ve spent so much $ over the years trying to find headphones that I can use while lap swimming, that produce decent quality audio AND don’t leak. Up until these, the leaking was terrible and usually resulted in losing (partially or totally) sound from one or both sides, due to water leaking either into my ear canal or the in-ear speaker. It’s not that the speaker was shorting out, it’s that the water (or possibly air bubble) lodged between the speaker and my ear drum made the sound virtually inaudible. These Swimbuds Fit come with a few features that seem to have solved the leak problem because I’ve been using them for some weeks now and haven’t had a single leak. Whether it’s the shape/size of the ‘tree’ (the part that goes into the ear), or the flexible memory wire designed to mold to your exterior ear and support the angle of entry into the ear, or maybe even the “Goop” that comes with it (a hydrophobic vaseline-like material which probably helps maintain the water seal and makes inserting the headphone easier and more comfortable), I can’t be sure, but the combination works for me and for the first time in 40+ years of lap swimming, I’m enjoying my music, podcasts, etc. I hope that soon, the company will offer a noise cancellation version which could reduce the water noise much like other in-ear buds reduce airplane noise – it should be feasible. The reason for this suggestion is that when listening to ‘talk’-type recordings (e.g. podcasts) I often have to turn up the volume louder than I really want to in order to overcome the water noise; I’m concerned about that in terms of ear damage especially with in-ear headphone. Less important but also of interest would be if the company will, at some point, offer the option an audiophile quality headphone for even better sound quality. But, those things aside, I recommend these Swimbuds Fit to anyone who’s looking for a solution to the problem of underwater headphones that leak. These things work, at least for me.
