Underwater Audio's Guide To Lap Tracking

This guide is for Delphin users and will teach you:

  1. How to set up a Lap Tracking account on your phone.
  2. How to log in to the Lap Tracking app on your Delphin.
  3. How to change Settings to your personal preferences.
  4. How to start your workout.
  5. Are you having Problems? Troubleshooting tips.

Some important notes before we start:

Once you have logged into your Lap Tracking account on the Delphin, you should not need to log in again. The Lap Tracking app should remember your log-in information for future visits.

If you don't care about synching data, you can turn WiFi off and open the Lap Tracking app to do a workout and skip the log in section.

WiFi is required for setup if you want to be able to sync your workout data to your phone.

Tip: While swimming, you will want your WiFi turned off. Water and WiFi do not mix, so even if the pool you swim at offers free WiFi to guests, your Delphin will not be able to work while in the water. The easiest way to do this is to swipe from the top of the Delphin to the bottom twice, until the WiFi symbol is visible. Tap the WiFi Symbol to toggle WiFi on or off. (When you need to reconnect your Delphin to the internet, these are the same steps, just make sure the symbol does not have the slash mark.)

Create a Lap Tracking Account

To start you will need a Lap Tracking account. If you do not have one already, download the companion app for your phone to get started:

Apple App Store: Apple Lap Tracking Companion App

Android App Store: Android Lap Tracking Companion App

Your username can be anything, but is easiest to remember (and shorter than most email addresses) if it is your phone number. Phone numbers MUST be in the format of: +12345678999

The "+1" before your standard phone number is critical to making the app log-in properly.

The first time you open the Lap Tracking app it should run you through settings and options to make your app more personalized.

Sign into Lap Tracking on your Delphin

Open the Lap Tracking app.

This process is very similar to signing into any account, just type your username and password when prompted.

Enter your username, or your phone number in this format: +12345678999

Your password is the one you set while creating your Lap Tracking account.

Forgot your password? Reset it by clicking "Forgot Your Password?" on the bottom right side of the log-in page.

How to Use Lap Tracking

Getting Started:

Workout Mode: You can choose to have a Guided Workout if you would like, or if you hit Normal you can choose to listen to the audiobook or music that you have downloaded onto your Delphin.

When you press Start Countdown your Delphin will wait 30 seconds (default setting which can be changed) before beginning the workout. This gives you time to turn off the screen and comfortably get into the pool before the time starts on your workout.

You can Pause your workout by hitting the power button and tapping the screen once. This feature is useful if you want to take a break during your swim that is longer than 30 seconds and do not want the swim-time data on your workout to be affected by the pause.

To Resume, tap the screen once.

If you hit the power button and double tap the screen, it will End Workout and show you a screen with the Summary of your swim workout. Click Finish to go back to the main menu.

Other Tips & Troubleshooting

The Delphin is best positioned on the back of your goggle's strap to be able to measure your swim properly.

The Lap Tracking app was designed for people swimming using: backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, and freestyle. If you are not using one of these swimming methods, the app may have a difficult time accurately reading your workout for the summary.

If you are having issues with your Lap Tracking app, the first suggestion from our programmers is to simply completely turn off and turn on your Delphin again to allow it to restart the program.
