Underwater Audio's Guide To Delphin Remote Connect

This guide is for Delphin users.

Things you will need to follow this guide:

  • A strong WiFi connection
  • A Delphin Micro Tablet
  • The Delphin Remote App Downloaded on your smartphone.
    • This link will take you to the Android App Store.
    • This link will take you to the Apple App Store.

Big hint! If you are already past the initial Delphin set-up process: To make setting up and installing anything on your Delphin easier, from the front screen, swipe up for more options. Go to Settings > Display > Sleep and choose a longer time, like 10 minutes, to keep the screen from going dark too quickly. Just remember after you have finished setting up to go back and turn the screen down to a lower time. The two fastest ways to drain the battery on your Delphin are keeping the display screen on and being connected to WiFi. Keep the screen off whenever it is not in use and turn off the WiFi any time you are not actively using it to keep your battery running for the longest time.

Why Use Delphin Remote Connect?

With Delphin Remote, you can take full control of your Delphin Waterproof Micro-Tablet wirelessly from your smartphone! Enjoy 1-touch file transfer, painless app setup, and a much more refined typing experience than what is possible on an ultra compact device like the Delphin.

  • Easy to connect! Simply scan the QR code displayed on your Delphin
  • Live view and full remote control of your Delphin via Wifi
  • Instantly reconnect from memory, even after the app is closed completely
  • Login and setup your playlists and podcasts on a familiar screen
  • Full Screen and Delphin-mirrored view options
  • Easily organize and share files between your smartphone and Delphin
  • 100% Encrypted data transfer keeps your files and information secure

While it’s true that the Delphin is a 100% independent smart device, typing and file organization on its compact screen can be frustrating for some users. This is especially true when setting up your Delphin for the first time, as many apps require that you log in with your email and password. The Delphin Remote app eliminates small-screen typing frustrations.

Setup is super simple: You need only to connect your Delphin and your smartphone to the same WiFi network, then open Delphin Remote on both your Delphin and your smartphone. Use your smartphone to scan the QR code displayed on your Delphin. The first time you connect, the app will ask for permission to access your device’s camera and file storage in order to scan the QR code and transfer files. Once you're connected, you’ll be able to take full advantage of your smartphone’s display for tasks like entering login info, transferring files, and setting up playlists.

Using Remote Connect to aid in setup

Delphin Remote Connect can show you both the Delphin Screen mode and a Fullscreen mode. Use Fullscreen mode by pressing the button on the (Android: upper right-hand corner) (Apple: lower right-hand corner) to have the easiest time typing and selecting options on your smartphone.

Some important notes before we start:

WiFi is required:

While making any changes to your music/audiobook/podcast libraries or while downloading your playlists, you must be connected to a strong WiFi connection. We recommend being as physically close to your WiFi router as possible.

While swimming, you will want your WiFi turned off. Water and WiFi do not mix, so even if the pool you swim at offers free WiFi to guests, your Delphin will not be able to work while in the water. The easiest way to do this is to go to Settings > Network > and check the Airplane Mode box. (When you need to reconnect your Delphin to the internet, these are the same steps, just make sure the box is NOT checked.)

Download Apps onto your Delphin

Before you start, you will need accounts for the apps you want to use. If you do not have have an account already with the app you want to use, we recommend setting up the account on either your Computer or Phone to have an easier time with your keyboard and screen size.

Once you are connected to the Delphin Remote Connect, using the apps is just like how you would normally use and sign into an app on your phone.

The Fullscreen size phone keyboard makes typing and selecting options on the Delphin a breeze, and being able to read on a larger screen is much easier for most people.

Once you get all of your playlists and audiobooks set up on your Delphin, selecting a playlist or audiobook at the pool (off WiFi) is simple and usually only 1 or 2 taps to play your content.

Other tips & considerations

Do you have a completely unknown issue not fixed by anything above?

The first thing Underwater Audio will recommend is to completely turn off and turn on the Delphin to reboot it. This will fix most app glitches.

Next we would recommend restarting the smartphone you are using as this may sometimes fix any glitches happening in the connection.

If that does not work, the second suggestion is to uninstall and reinstall the companion app on your smartphone. You will simply have to sign in again once it is reinstalled.

We recommend rebooting the Delphin between uninstalling and reinstalling an app. Just power off the Delphin and power it back on again.
