Underwater Audio's Guide to Amazon Music

This guide is for Delphin Users.

We recommend that first-time users follow this help page step by step, from top to bottom.

First we will cover what you need to use Amazon Music on your Delphin, then we will cover first time setup, and finally we will provide troubleshooting resources.

What you'll need

A strong WiFi connection

While making any changes to your playlists or while downloading your music, you must be connected to a strong WiFi network.

An Amazon Music account

To start you will need an Amazon Music account. If you do not have one already, we recommend setting up an account on either your Computer or Phone to have an easier time with your keyboard and screen size. We recommend creating your swimming playlists this way as well.

A paid Amazon Music subscription

Amazon Music offers a few different options for streaming content:

  • If you have purchased music through Amazon, you can listen that in this app for free.
  • Amazon Prime members can stream from a limited catalogue of music (around 2 million songs) and download and listen to those tracks offline.
  • If you have an Amazon Music Unlimited subscription, you will have full access to the Amazon Music catalogue.

This link will take you to Amazon Music’s website to tell you the differences between the subscription levels.

Step 1

Download Amazon Music onto your Delphin

  • If you're setting up your new Delphin for the first time:

Your Delphin may present an option to download the Amazon Music app to you during the set-up process. Click on it to download.

  • If you have already set up your Delphin and want to add a new app:

Open the Help App by tapping three white lines on your home screen, choosing the Help App, and then selecting ‘Install Apps’. Amazon Music should appear on the list of popular apps. Tap on it to download and then press 'Install Selected'.

(Tip: If you will be using Amazon Music frequently, we recommend adding it to the home screen of your Delphin for easy access. To add Amazon Music to your home screen, hold down on the icon you want to replace on the home screen. Select Amazon Music from the list of apps that appears.

Step 2

Sign into Amazon Music on your Delphin

Open Amazon Music by clicking on the three white horizontal lines at the top-left of your screen and selecting the app. Select 'Log In', enter your username and password, then submit.

(Tip: Your Delphin's screen may turn off quickly between steps during set-up. To make setting up and installing anything on your Delphin easier, go to App List > System Settings > Display > Sleep and choose a longer sleep time, like 10 minutes, to keep the screen from going dark too quickly. We recommend going back and turning the screen down to a lower time after you have finished setting up your apps as keeping the display screen on drains battery life.)

Step 3

Download playlists for the pool

Before you head to the pool, you will need to get your apps ready for offline use, as WiFi doesn't work in the water.

Turn on your sound and watch this short video to learn how the process is done in Amazon Music.

Here is a brief overview of the process

1. Open Amazon Music by clicking on the three white horizontal lines at the top-left of your screen and selecting the app. Sign in to your account.

2. Choose a playlist from your library, and open it.

3. Download the playlist by pressing the 2nd icon from the left, under the playlist title.

4. Once your playlist is downloaded, test it out by playing it with your WiFi off. If your music plays while your WiFi is off, you're all set!

(Tip: You can turn your WiFi off by swiping down from the top of your screen 2 times. You will see a WiFi icon. Tap the WiFi icon to turn it off. Then, you can swipe that screen away by putting your finger at the bottom of your screen and swiping upward. You can also turn it off by navigating to the app menu, then Open System Settings > Network & internet > then toggling WiFi off at the top right.)2

Troubleshooting

Here are some troubleshooting resources to help get you swimming with music!

Amazon Music also has great help pages and information. There are individual help pages to show you how to Create a Playlist and Download Music.

This link will take you to Amazon Music’s Support page if you need any other help, such as resetting your password, login details, or troubleshooting.

How do I remove a playlist from my Delphin?

Amazon Music has a specific feature unlike other streaming services. If you log out of your account on your Delphin device, it will automatically remove all of your downloaded content. If you are trying to clear out your space, this is a very quick way to do it. Unfortunately, if you log out by accident, you will be required to download your playlists again for offline listening.

If you select ‘Remove from My Music’ this will delete the playlist from your entire account, not just the Delphin.

How do I uninstall the Amazon Music app on my Delphin?

On the home screen of your Delphin, click the three white horizontal lines at the bottom of your screen and scroll until you find your Amazon Music app. Hold down on the app until a new menu appears. Select 'Uninstall.' We recommend turning your Delphin off and back on again after uninstalling.

My Amazon Music is not playing while off of WiFi.

There are a couple of things that can cause this issue:

1. Make sure your playlists are downloaded onto your Delphin by following Step 3 above.

2. At least once a month, you will need to reconnect your Delphin to the internet to allow Amazon Music to verify that your account is active. This will still matter even if you use your Amazon Music account on your phone or computer. The Delphin Player has to be reconnected once a month to the internet so that any paid subscription apps (Audible, Spotify, etc.) can verify for billing purposes.
