Delphin Lap Tracking App and Companion App

Delphin Lap Tracking App and Companion App

Are you looking for a new way to track your laps in the pool?
Have you tried using different kinds of watches or apps to track your laps, but can't find one that works as well as you would like?
Luckily for all swimmers out there, Underwater Audio has created a new app that will blow the other lap tracking apps and devices out of the water (pun intended).

What's the App?

The app is called Lap Tracking. The name is simple, and right to the point.
Lap Tracking is available on either the Delphin or the Apple Watch, so if you don't have one, you'll need to get one before you can use this app.

But don't worry, if you buy the Delphin, it's worth every dollar.
The Delphin was made specifically with swimmers in mind. It is 100% waterproof and small enough to clip to your goggles, while still having a touch screen and Bluetooth capabilities. The Delphin is great because lap tracking is far from the only thing it can do - you can download your favorite songs and podcasts from premium versions of apps such as Spotify, Pandora, and Audible and listen to them underwater, which is super cool. You can find more information on the Delphin, or buy one, at this link.

So, What Makes the Lap Tracking App so Great?

You may ask, what is so different about this app from others?
The Lap Tracking app tracks your laps and then tells you your time audibly, and in real time. Pretty great, right? While you're pushing along and listening to music, the Lap Tracking app will occasionally turn down the music and tell you just how well you're doing, and then turn the music back up and send you on your way. You can adjust what the app tells you and how often the app speaks to you. You no longer need use an app that tells you on your wrist, or ask a fellow swimmer to time you, both of which require you to stop swimming, and many of us know firsthand that it can be frustrating to have to stop after a lap to find out your time, instead of being able to keep swimming.
With Lap Tracking, you don't need to choose to either keep swimming or know lap times. You can keep swimming AND know your lap time.
It's the best of both worlds.

Sneak Peek At What's Coming

The Lap Tracking app is already available for the Delphin, and it's pretty cool, but we aren't stopping there.
Yep, it gets even better.
There is a new function being developed for the Lap Tracking app, and you get a sneak peek right now of what's to come. We are creating a Lap Tracking companion app for your smartphone.
Once you get the companion app on your phone, the Lap Tracking app on your Delphin will send the information it collects to the app on your phone. This phone app lets you keep track of your swims so you can compare the workouts you have done and how effective they have been.

Warning: Don't take your phone in the water. It is not waterproof. The app on the Delphin will send the information to your phone while your phone is on dry land.

Why Should You Get It?

There's a lot of information out there about the benefits of keeping track of your swims. Let's take a look at what some of these benefits are:

  1. Logging your swims will help you have an overall look at how you swim and how you could improve.
  2. It can help motivate you when you see how well you've been doing. You can set goals much more easily when you have something written down to look at rather than trying to remember what you did in yesterday's workout. These goals will also probably be more realistic if you have actual numbers and charts to view.
  3. It will make you more accountable for sticking to your goals. It is up to you whether you work hard or not, and this companion app will make it easier to see how you have been performing, and whether you need to ramp up the effort.

But, of course, none of the benefits that come from logging your workout matter unless you actually have a log to look at. The Lap Tracking app and companion app will help you improve your workouts, become a better swimmer, and achieve your swimming goals.

A Bit of Advice

After you have used these apps to make goals for yourself, write down those goals.
There was a study performed by a psychology professor at Dominican University in California about writing goals down. It included 267 people from all around the world and found out that people who have their goals written down are 42% more likely to accomplish them.
Wouldn't you like to be 42% more likely to reach your goal?

Your Thoughts

What do you think about the Lap Tracking app and companion app? Are you excited to get in the water and try them out? How will you use them to improve your swimming?
