3 Things I'm Grateful For

3 Things I'm Grateful For

You've all heard the old adage "is the glass half-empty or half-full?" I think this sentiment is particularly relevant to what we're experiencing with Covid-19. In these unfamiliar times, I admire everyone who is navigating the waters with resolve and optimism. This pandemic has taught me that while I can’t control what’s going on in the world, I can control my mindset. For me, this looks like finding a few things to be grateful for each morning. The more I do it, the more I realize how gratitude turns what we have into enough. With that said, I wanted to share my gratitude list with all of you:

  1. Front Line Workers

Front line workers get the biggest shout out!! Underwater Audio is immensely grateful for all of you on the front lines supporting our communities. A huge thank you to all health care workers, first responders, grocery clerks, delivery drivers, and essential workers keeping the world running while many of us are on lockdown. THANK YOU for all that you do.

  1. Unplugging

Many of us have begun to initiate small changes and build healthy habits. As I write to you from beautiful Bend, Oregon, this small change for me looks like starting each day outside- rain, snow, or shine (literally- some days we have all three LOL). Before I do anything else (including checking my phone), I get outside. Just being in the open-air and moving is enough. And you know what? This small change has led to other positive changes as well. As the cold air fills my lungs in the morning, I can’t help but think of what is filling my mind. While we’ve been social distancing. I’ve also found the need to distance from my iPhone. I don’t know about you, but I need to put that thing down and get much further away than 6-feet! That’s why I’m grateful to have my Delphin at a time like this- I can take a break from the news and social media, while still staying connected to things that awaken joy. So, each morning around 6, as I walk my German Shepherd in the forest, I abandon my phone at home and bring my Delphin instead. There is no better way to start my day than with fresh-air, my dog, and a light-hearted podcast.

  1. Adaptability

So many of you are stepping up and mixing up you exercise regime due to pool and gym closures; you give all of us some much-needed inspiration!

John Griffin climbed the equivalent of Mt. Everest from the staircase inside his home!

And Elisha Nochomovitz ran a marathon on his balcony!

We’ve also heard from many of our customers who are adapting their workouts since pools are currently closed. A lot of you are walking around your neighborhood to soak up some sun, some of you are lifting weights in your living room and others are pulling out their dusty treadmills and using their Delphins for something other than swimming for the first time ever! I think the way we’re all adjusting to our circumstances is incredible and gives me a lot of motivation and hope! While this is not plan A, we sure are making the most of plan B!

Many of our customers have gotten out of the pool and into the outdoors. Others are sewing masks around the clock. Whether you are on the front lines serving our communities or discovering creative ways to exercise- I am grateful for the ways so many of you have optimized the world we now live in. We love hearing inspiring stories from our customers on the ways they’re helping and acclimating! Do you have any workout ideas that you think other people may enjoy? Please share with us in the comments!
