I don’t know about you, but when it comes to swimming I think fish have it easy. They swim so fast! Of course, it stands to reason seeing as water is their natural habitat… so they should move fast, right?
Now, I know I’m not the first to feel this way. But to go as fast as the fish, I’m gonna need help and (thanks to Ben Franklin) there is a way to swim faster!
The answer is: swim fins (which Ben Franklin invented). With swim fins on, I can propel myself through the water at an incredible speed!
So, if you want to feel the wind in your hair as you blow by the other swimmers at the gym, here are the top 5 swim fins on the market:
First on the list are the Oceanic Viper Dive and Snorkeling Fins.
These tough fins are adjustable which makes them ideal for all diving and snorkeling skill levels.
They also have a flexible power thrust that channels the water off the tip of the blade for a lot more power. Even though they can produce so much power, they are still really light, so you won’t get tired kicking them around!
Next on the list are the Sherwood Fusion Fins.
These fins use top of the line thermoplastic elastomers to deliver a huge amount of power and propulsion! They come in a variety of colors to choose from and they are built to last.
The Fusions have a high performance center channel and side rails that push the water-flow off the end of the fin for some serious power and push!
These next fins have some great features like some of the top propelling fin technology in the industry. They also have reinforced blade rails that give ultimate water channeling. Not to mention, they have a hydrofoil design that gives you a lot of thrust forward while using up a lot less energy.
I’m talking about the Tabata Zoom Fins! They also features a split fin which can give some better stability in the water as you swim! Not bad for some flippers!
If you are into free diving, these may be the fins for you!
The Rob Allen Scorpia Free Diving Fins are a really durable fin specifically made to keep you from over flexing. They do this by accurately transmitting leg energy to the fin- giving you the most power for your kick!
Once again, this fin also comes with channels on the blade for better water movement and better speed!
Ok, so these are the last fins on the list… but that doesn’t mean they are any less cool!
These fins are perfect for spearfishing, or just snorkeling in your favorite spot. Pure Instinct Finshelp with your kicking technique, and swimming efficiency.
The best part is that anyone can use them because they are some of the lightest free diving fins out there.
Any of these swim fins will help you swim faster and longer. So go and find a pair!
When you go to the lake to break them in, don’t forget to take your Underwater Audio Waterproof iPod Shuffle with you.
This way, you can rock out to your favorite tunes while you glide through the water at top speed! Until next time, swim fast and rock out!
